Termites

Problem

Termites eat away at building structures and foundations, causing extensive damage and can potentially render a building completely unusable.

Treatments

  • Physical barriers such as ant capping can be used which do not eliminate attack but force the termites into the open for early detection. Pouring of a monolithic slab during construction and insertion of stainless-steel mesh to penetrations. This results in exposed slab edge for ease of early detection.
  • Chemical barriers, such as pesticides or insecticides, can be used to kill termites.
  • Colony elimination systems and monitor stations can be used to track and eliminate termite colonies.
  • Nest detection and destruction can be used to locate and destroy termite nests.
  • Dust treatment can be used to kill termites in their nests. Removal of nests can also be effective in eliminating a termite problem.
